Graphic Design

2018-Present

As part of my freelance work, I offer custom logo designs for all types of businesses.  I have designed logos for law offices, therapists, and small businesses.  This is an area of graphic design I hope to continue to work in and grow my skills.

Skulltra Running Co.

I designed this logo for a running shoe company, specializing in hiking and outdoor activities.  My client wanted to use the striking graphic of a skull, but tweaked to represent the brand of the shoe.  I sent the lo-fi sketches to the left, and we ultimately landed on a skull with a mountain range outlined in the teeth.

I designed this pottery stamp for a friend's pottery studio.  He wanted to include his initials as a signature under each pot, plus include a cute illustration representing his two dogs.  Taking inspiration from a typical circular pottery stamp, I created a contained design with his dogs curled up in a sweet embrace.

Tonal Vibrations Music Therapy

This design was for a music therapist who wanted a professional logo for his practice.  He wanted the logo to include an appearance of sound waves, referencing the work he does with his clients.  I used blended lines along a gradian to evoke a resonant, calming sound.

Final logo design, Worman Law LLC
Worman Law

For this law firm, my client wanted a logo that would evoke professionalism while still appearing approachable.  I used a serif font to convey authority, next to a clean graphic 'W' that was simple and modern.  The client and I iterated many versions with different fonts, and ultimately settled on this as the best choice.

When you're a designer, why not design a logo for your own company? For my custom map business, Phenomenalia, I wanted a logo that would evoke the feeling of one of my maps.  I used a hand-drawn illustration of a pirate ship that is a signature image featured on most of my maps.  For the font, I chose Old Man Eloquent because it was legible but evoked the style of handwritten calligraphy.
